“The mind has a wonderful capacity to translate our thoughts into their physical counterpart. If you allow your mind to dwell on thoughts of poverty and failure, you can be sure that will become your destiny. But if you focus on positive thoughts, develop a belief in yourself, and seek opportunities, you will become a success.” ~ W. Clement Stone
What do you consistently think? Many of us find it difficult to see anything other than the circumstances that surround us right here and now.
If you aren’t in a good place, dwelling on your problems and your present circumstances won’t help. In fact, it will keep you where you are or send you even further into the muck and mire of what you so desperately want to escape!
I’m not suggesting that changing your thoughts alone will change your circumstances; but it is the place you have to start in order to make change.
Proverbs 23:7 tells us: “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.”
In order to get out of your current financial mess and start to develop true prosperity in your life, you have to start thinking about what you DO want instead of what you DON’T want.
Then you have to match your words and actions with your thoughts.
Remember what it took for God to bless Abram? “The LORD had said to Abram, ‘Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you.'” (Genesis 12:1)
In other words, sometimes we have to change who we hang around with too! It may mean spending less time with your friends and family members if they talk fear, doubt, unbelief, doom and gloom.
If you can’t see a brighter future, you can’t have a brighter future. The vision has to come first. “Lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are…” (Genesis 13:14)
So, what are you dwelling on today?
